Congrats to Iris and Jeu! Baby Beatriz was born on December 10, a little earlier than what we expected but, shes a gorgeous little thing, happy and healthy. Im so happy for you guys! I wish I was there to grab those precious cheeks! Love you tons..take good care of this little Angel. xoxoxox

The other way around

You wouldnt believe what happened to me last night...
we went singing to this one family Christmas get-together, major barbecue, good food, etc. we got there earlier and kinda helped around with some stuff. they were really sweet people. I needed to use the bathroom so off I went, but when I needed to get out, the door wouldnt open! And I thought to myself..."Great! here I am locked! how embarassing..." I started freaking out and banging on the door till someone came to my rescue.
A girl, shes like : " ok, calm down, turn the lock, slowly, try again..." but it wouldnt open... I freaked out more! then shes like: " ok, try turning the other way around."I thought to myself " how odd, but I'll give it a try..."
I turned it and it opened. Phew! that was close, the rest of the busking team started laughing at me. If I would've stayed locked it would be the end of our busking night. but God is good and even though it was very embarassing I didnt had spend my night there.

How the Jews got the 10 Commandments

God went to the Germans and said, "I have Commandments for you that will make your lives better."

And the Germans asked, "What are Commandments?"

And the Lord said, "They are rules for living."

"Can you give us an example?"

"Thou shalt not kill."

"Not kill? We're not interested."

So He went to the Italians and said, "I have Commandments."

And the Italians wanted an example, and the Lord said, "Thou shalt not steal."

"Not steal? We're not interested."

He went to the French and said, "I have Commandments."

The French wanted an example and the Lord said, "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife."

"Not covet my neighbor's wife? We're not interested."

He went to the Jews and said, "I have Commandments."

"Commandments?" they said, "how much are they?"

"They're free."

"We'll take 10."

Something Special

Thats the name of our singing group believe it or not...and the most funny thing about it is that the girls are all tall and the only 2 boys are pretty short...lol!! but its been fun to sing with these guys...they have a great sense of humor! we usually go all the way to our singing spot laughing our heads off. theres always some joke to crack about something. after all is Christmas...lets be merry!!!

Congrats to my dear friend Nani

Here are some pix of Zion, Nani and Estevão's kid. Nani is my good friend I know her for almost 2 years, you know when you dont know to meet someone for too long to love him/her to pieces? Shes sweet, talented and loving... So cute!! The good news is that I'm pretty close to where she lives so I'll be able to visit and watch baby Zion grow. Fun, Fun! since my nephew Reilly is far away. Love you girl...

Kids Practice

I went over to the other home today to take the boys to practice for their Christmas show and you guys should see...its the total of 9 boys almost a whole soccer team, but if you looked at how they were standing up, you would think they're an army....lol!
Kats kids are so talented, Shane must be what 10 or something and he was playing the harmonic super well, I was impressed. It was a mixture of both, cute and funny how 9 kids of all sizes, colors and way of being could sing or try singing harmoniously. it sounded pretty good but let me tell you Kat and Jessica had a hard time trying to control then, you know how boys are they cant sit still for a moment. I had a fun time, laughed my head off...will try to get ahold of a pic of the singing group to post.

Happy b-day bro!

What can I say about someone that is so fun to be around, a wonderful musician, excellent cook, good looking dude and a wonderful person??? he had to be my brother everyone! lol..
I love you man! missing you tons, hope to see you sometime next year.
So...happy 21st birthday, have a wonderful and fulfilling year and keep being that wonderful and unique dude. Congrats!!!

C'mas Quandaries

One of the odd things about our missionary homes is that we end up with a total mish-mash of cultural backgrounds, generations, social backgrounds and opinions living under one same roof. They say variety is the spice of life, and one of the spiciest times is during traditional holidays because everyone has their own traditional way to celebrate. Now, the point of tradition is to repeat it, but how do you repeat everyone’s particular ritual all at the same time?
For example, in our home we face the following decisions. What do we do?

Christmas Eve:
Open the presents at midnight, and then party like there is no tomorrow
Open the presents at midnight, and then sing Christmas carols
Go out singing and open the presents whenever
Eat your Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve and open the presents on Christmas morning
Never open presents on Christmas morning
Kids open their presents Christmas morning, adults open them that evening

Christmas Dinner:
Turkey
Barbeque
Mole and Pozole and Mexican goodies
Prepare everyone’s favorite dish
Forget Christmas cooking, eat sandwiches and relax

Christmas Gifts:
Play secret santa and make sure nobody’s gifts cost less than 20 USD
Do not play secret santa because it institutionalizes the giving of gifts
Buy no gifts and save the money for vacations
Stuff Christmas stockings instead of giving gifts

Christmas Decorations:
Decorate everything together one evening
Appoint a decorating committee to ensure all baubles are color-coded and matching
Allow the kids to decorate the house
Never allow the kids to decorate the house

… And on the list goes. The cool thing about being a missionary and traveling around is that you learn to adapt, and often invent new traditions! I can’t wait to see what we’ll end up doing this year.

Fridays Traffic Jam

Beautiful sunny day, and it was our first day going out busking and everything seemed perfect...until we get to our 1^st appointment, which was nothing more than a disappointment! we got to the restaurant and the guy said we couldn’t sing because it was too full and there was no way we could possibly do it. We left the restaurant wondering why but trusting the lord had a plan B.

The boys had an idea to go and try another restaurant , so off we went but on the way we got stuck on a traffic jam, alright traffic jams are usually very normal around here, but this time it was anything but normal…Im proud to announce that we got stuck for the exact amount of 6 precious hours, it was unbelievable! The car wouldn’t move, so we took our time to get to know each other better, practice our songs and to make our 1^st presentation on a bridge for the people who were outside their cars waiting for some action. Our butts were square, we just didn’t know what to do…

Once we get to our witnessing spot is already late, and we started talking trying to decide about what to do and the phone rings is someone home telling us to go back home because this other restaurant call and wanted us to sing there that very same night.

WOW! A total miracle, I was starting to get discouraged but I knew that the Lord had to do a miracle and so he did, we got home, ate dinner and went out again and had a very fun evening, the place was fancy, the owners sweet and we witnessed and got out our cds.
